Zelenskyy simply and accurately explains why giving up the Donbas won’t end the war: "Putin says he wants the Donbas, but why, at the start of the full-scale invasion, was he trying to occupy Kyiv? Is that the east of our country? Is that the Donbas? No, that’s the capital.

Ukraine stands against such a powerful enemy as Russia. We stand, otherwise we will be destroyed. It’s always difficult, you know, in communications with partners, to find the right words, the warnings that they will truly understand. Putin wants to destroy us.

Powerful message from @jim.londoncentric.media here - investigative journalism costs £ and so do consider a subscription to @londoncentric.media if you can www.londoncentric.media/p/prince-cha...
London Centric hit its second birthday this month and I wanted to give you a quick peek behind the curtain on how things are going.
What you see: Award-winning investigations. Follow-ups in prestigious news outlets.
Mentions in parliament. The Instagram and YouTube accounts.
Readers' comments that are consistently some of the best discussions on the internet.
What you don't see: The tips we spend months investigating that don't result in stories we can publish. The dozens of emails and WhatsApps from sources that we receive every day but can't look into because there are only three of us and we can't afford more reporters. The legal threats that can bog us down in correspondence for weeks on end.How a story that lands in your inbox can take a year to publish.
The two months this summer during which London Centric was run from a laptop without a working backspace key. How, in an age of AI, this is very much a boots-on-the-ground operation that relies on a lot of hard human labour, late nights and standing in the rain knocking on people's doors.
Investigative journalism costs an awful lot more money to produce than spouting opinions on podcasts - which explains why there's an increasing number of media outlets that produce lengthy discussions and far fewer that find out fresh facts.
Everything on London Centric is funded by readers who have signed up as paying subscribers.

ECHR withdrawal 'gift to Putin'
By Jonathan Rayner | 22 March 2012

Britain’s withdrawal from the European Convention on Human Rights in favour of a British bill of rights would be Vladimir Putin's
'best present ever', an East European delegate at a Council of Europe event for lawyers told the Gazette last weekend.

The source, who asked not be named, said that Putin, just re-elected as president of Russia, has always said that the Strasbourg court's policing of human rights was ‘meaningless'.
Another unnamed source, a former north European government lawyer, described the UK government's attitude to the Strasbourg court as 'Britain shooting itself in the foot. If the British don't engage with Europe, they'll lose influence and shouldn't be surprised if
Germany and France fill the vacuum?

It's pretty simple, really: Representative A makes outrageous statement. Media, naturally, give it wall-to-wall coverage. A day or so later, Representative B steps in to explain that the statement was 'misinterpreted.' Media then churns out even more coverage on how we ought to 'interpret' claims.

Cabinet ministers are being warned

to slash public spending or raise taxes.
The £66 billion drop, contained in a
draft cabinet committee paper seen by
The Times, is nearly a tenth of the
£716 billion that the government is pro-

equivalent to 65 per cent of the annual
budget of NHS England.

Business leaders are_increasingly
worried that the UK could fail to nego-

Several cabinet ministers who sup-
