Why is EVERY experience ruined now? Somebody’s got A FUCKING DRONE hovering over the #MontereyJazzFestival arena. During a BALLAD.

At the #MontereyJazzFestival for the first time in a few years. Time from gate entrance to randomly running into someone I know: 18 minutes.

The older I get, the more clear it is that all our safety and well-being is intertwined. The same forces pushing racism are targeting trans people and immiserating the disabled and extracting everything they can from all of us. We gotta stand up for everyone because everyone is all of us.

Big, beautiful Cambridge (aka Cambot) #catsofbluesky
Cambot, a tortoiseshell tabby, spreads out in loaf position next to that big blue donut thing she and her brother completely ignore, just like all the other cat crap we buy because we NEVER learn that all they really want is a shoelace and a person to wiggle it. Heck, she’s looking for that shoelace right now! Put the camera away, silly human!

One of my favorite quotes ever- Chidi from the Good Place, sharing a perspective on death before he makes a big decision. It’s such a beautiful, heartbreaking scene #thegoodplace
“Picture a wave. In the ocean. You can see it, measure it, its height, the way the sunlight refracts when it passes through. And it's there. And you can see it, you know what it is. It's a wave.

And then it crashes in the shore and it's gone. But the water is still there. The wave was just a different way for the water to be, for a little while. You know it's one conception of death for Buddhists: the wave returns to the ocean, where it came from and where it's supposed to be.”

This is pretty fucking wild. I had assumed in a worst case scenario he would target blue zip codes and toss ballots based on technicalities but this is even worse than I imagined.
Not only is this system astonishingly untested, USPS has simultaneously implemented an
impracticable zero percent failure rate.
13 When ballots are submitted to USPS in large-volume
batches, if any one ballot in the batch cannot be verified against the Portal, all ballots in that
batch will be rejected. For example, if a state election official brings a batch of 10,000 ballots to
USPS and USPS is unable to match just one of those ballots against the Portal – because, for
example, someone has recently changed their name after marriage or they’ve moved – then
USPS would refuse to mail the remaining 9,999 ballots as well. As the whistleblower notes,

the lessons we need to take are clear. Dolly said "find out who you are and do it on purpose", and Tim Curry's line is "don't dream it, be it" they would both be disappointed if we wrote that off as corny. so what? it's necessary. we have everything to lose if we are dishonest to ourselves.
