will say it again: the most effective way to curb far right agitators like Lowe, "Tommo" et. al. would be to stop their ability to earn money for it from social media or live streaming. So much of it is grifting for revenue, not attention.

The only 4 constituencies where rejoining the EU wasn’t the preferred option were those of Lee Anderson, Farage, Tice and Lowe. In those 4, the top answer was ‘don’t know’. Confirming that Brexit has no real support at all. Not surprising for a total shitshow. And makes red lines seem very silly.

Farage’s basic message is that the country is fucked, that its immigrants’ fault and if we just get rid of them and take away everyone’s human rights and consumer protections to do so, then it’ll be great again. All cynically sponsored by foreign, crypto & fossil-fuel money. It’s a losers’ message.
To run on patriotism from the left is audacious, but there are successful precedents.
Mark Carney in Canada and Anthony Albanese in Australia did it, with some unwitting help from Donald Trump. Burnham is a more natural demagogue than either. He could stigmatise Reform as the plaything of Trump-smitten exiles and bitcoin bros whose first
loyalty is to their purses. It is crude stuff and might arouse primal emotions among voters, but he is not going to win the next election with a flutter of those eyelashes alone. "Love it or leave it," jingoes used to say to critics of their country. We love it, you left it, Burnham can say to at least a few Reform donors.

way to go, you fucking morons. I hope you're happy with how things are going
Going beyond the necessary cost cutting, tech’s newly radicalized billionaires used this moment to wage class war and enforce discipline on what they saw as an unruly workforce. Gone were the days of coddling tech workers and viewing them as the industry’s most valuable assets. Instead, the progressivism and idealism that had come, in part, from the techno-utopianism of the 2000s and 2010s was now seen by Silicon Valley’s executives and investors as an explicit threat. And so, these billionaires set their sights on winning the culture war and dismantling the left-liberal foundations they believed had turned their own workers against them. To do so, and to avoid another bout of Biden-esque regulation, they threw in their support with Trump, laying the foundations of what would soon be known as the tech oligarchy—a power bloc uniting capital and politics under a shared project of restoring control.
