This is so dumb. There are no *good* arguments against impeachment, but the idea that you're going to focus on passing "compromise" legislation instead is silly even on its own terms. You can both impeach and pass bills (and he'll veto anything of substance). Congress can do multiple things at once.

Need more white commentators to acknowledge this “rollback” is a human rights crime. Also part of a corrupt scheme involving bribery. The alternative is the travesty of claiming bigots like Roberts have some *legal* right to torch Black voting rights at whim. The hell they do

Members of Congress swear an oath to support and defend the Constitution. Not the party. Not their donors. Not their political careers. Congress already has the constitutional power of impeachment. The question is whether enough members have the courage to use it.

If the big-name male pundits here really want to improve the culture, I'd say that's where to start. Take "Remove the rapist president" seriously as a cause. Stop inventing ways to undermine it. Stop treating Impeach/Remove orgs as decorative or naive or whatever - just follow and boost them. Thanks

Not just impeachable. Impeachment, both pres. and agency heads, is the only option. It's impeachment or nothing. Courts won't stop it. Other tools are impotent. Put them on trial the only way you can. Even if you can't get 2/3, use process as punishment. Make it miserable and costly. It can be done.

Trump's net approval is -22.4%. He's twice as unpopular as he was at this point in his first term, making him the least popular president at this stage in the history of presidential polling. What more would it take for Dems and liberal institutions to stop being accomodationists?

Flying Pace @flyingpace.bsky.social · 26/09/2026
Agree and would add the current party is basically 100% accommodationist. The soon-to-depart Al Green may be the only exception. Hopefully this cycle will bring some actually confrontational leaders into the Congress, because otherwise Dems are offering only “Work with Trump” or “Work around him.”

There's no constitutional basis for the premise that one legislator, backed by a slim majority, can effectively deprive the whole US of a legislature, for no other reason than corrupt self-protection. This is just another form of coup, enabled by everyone who's legitimized the Trump "presidency."

Yes. It's a joke to pretend the Speaker has this much power. This is part of a larger shell game that media and leaders constantly play: attributing supreme power in the system (or any one branch of the system) to the most aggressive fascist, regardless of law or precedent. bsky.app/profile/flyi...
