For any classicists or historians of ancient periods, would you have any recommendations for a translation of a poem or bit of writing on pain (physical pain) that you think might be interesting to undergrads? Appreciate it, in advance.

Such a good reminder that the battle is as much about holding one's ground, as about winning. Standing for what you believe in. And, the more of us who stand together, the more likely we are to be able to stay upright, and – hopefully – keep moving in the ideal direction.

This is so intriguing, now I want to talk about voltas in every novel I read with everyone who has read it! Except I wonder? I think I often take to a novel pretty much immediately? It is all about the sentences. Sometimes I take to a novel with a passion only to come to hate it before its end.

THE MOMENT

to wait.  to be
waiting.  I keep on
banging at the gates
of love.  somewhere
beyond this sense
of inconclusion;

to be waiting at this door,
 my head, which never opens.
I keep on searching
for what is
to make itself apparent,
& in the dark
to be so restless
the mind will not awake.
