🚨New AD🚨 When Trump tried to take over our streets with armed, masked ICE agents, he found out what Minnesotans were made of.

Like many Minnesotans, I was filmed by federal agents this winter. We must address the specific abuses of power that this administration has enabled *and* reckon with the broader surveillance state and culture we have allowed to flourish in the name of “safety.”

Yes, but imagine if someone had been waiting at that bus stop. Because of the senior living communities, there is probably someone with limited mobility at that bus stop 50% of the time. There is zero reason for any car to be going this fast down a neighborhood street.

Im in agreement at the moment. I’m sitting on my deck counting how few vehicles are stopping at the 4 way stop at the end of my block. 25% of drivers are fully blowing the stop sign, and another 25% are only barely slowing down.

Here’s the AI text before you start. What’s the reason to employ AI here?
Screenshot shows the MPS survey page, text reads:

Welcome
Before you begin, you should know:
• Your responses will be shared exactly as you write them.
• Your personal identity is kept private and is never connected to your input.
This symbol means you are interacting with Al. Your personal information is never shared with it, and your answers are never used to train Al models.

When we heard sirens down the block, I didn’t expect to see this. A car hit this lamppost so hard it fully detached from the base, landing in a busy bus stop outside two senior living facilities.
Lamppost separated from its base and lying broken. A bus stop bench is in the background.

And of course that 400k doesn’t account for the thousands of dollars of emergency mutual aid that twin cities neighbors poured into the camp to help our neighbors. And thousands of hours of volunteer time contributed by neighbors to help folks move.

ICE is still here. They're still doing awful shit to our neighbors. They'll break any and every law just to hurt people. All I can do is try to help one person at a time. Most of the time I feel like I'm out of gas but there's so far to go.

I just got done speaking to 500 minneapolis families from across the city on why I support delaying the MPS closure plan. After COVID, the CDD, and Operation Metro Surge our students need stability. This plan is rushed & still leaves many questions about the district’s financial future unanswered.

If vou did not touch or have any contact with the bat, you have no risk of rabies and do not need shots.

Does MPS face major challenges? Absolutely Am I frustrated by decisions and district leadership? Often. But I am also energized by MFPS organizing with families across the city, who are intent on NOT pitting one school community or part of the city against another.

When my kid started at MPS, I was surrounded by people who told me the district was going down the drain or in a death spiral. Being in community with people who reject that narrative has been so powerful, I can’t fully express it.

Yes. There was a (long) period where it was the coveted high school among professional white parents, but shifting programming has made it (more closely) reflect the actual community demographics.
