The third image also seems to show that bird being fed.A pair of male Galahs (Eolophus roseicapilla) are perched on an electrical cable against a bright blue sky. The bird on the right is half facing the camera, although turned slightly to the left. The bird on the left of the image has almost completely turned around so that its back is to the viewer. It is smaller and also shows some grey/brown feathers on its breast suggesting that it may be an immature bird. The third image also seems to show that bird being fed. This image seems to show the smaller bird referred to as being younger/immature in the previous two images being fed. An adult female is at the far right of the image with her back to the camera and she is looking at the other two.

I love how parrots really throw their whole bodies into the activity of drinking. Like me at the chocolate fountain, really 😄 I snapped this cockatiel from a great distance at Kangaroo Dam, Gluepot Reserve.

A few years ago I had a flight of whimsy where I decided to plant some banksias right next to my loungeroom with the idea that one day I'd be able to casually watch black cockatoos from the comfort of my couch. My friends, that day hath cometh.

A new Powerful Owlet! This from a pair that had an owlet that was rescued a couple of years ago, and that we helped with the release of when it had recovered. It looks a lot like that Owlet. So for this season we're up to 15 Owlets, 6 in pairs, 3 singles. #brisbane #birds #wildoz

On the domestic front, one of our outbuildings flooded—the laundry. All sorted, no dramas, but only because we had installed cut-off drains all the way around the house when we finished extending it. Animals are all fine, loving it, and the wildlife likewise—everything is thriving.

The rain held off long enough that I walked around for a bit with my camera this afternoon, looking for birds. I found some, too 😃 Yet the best photo of my walk was taken as I was leaving — just near our bins on our common property:

Due to heavy autumn and winter rains across central Australia, I predicted that it would be a bumper spring/summer season for budgies and cockatiels. Well, I wasn't wrong! There were 1000s of budgies and cockatiels at Gluepot. That's not an exaggeration. It was incredible.
