Our school doesn't just have a #bikebus, there's also a run club that meets, trains and runs to school together (another weekday). The parent organizer asked for a volunteer to drive all the kids backpacks to school. My husband said why drive when you could cargo bike?! 25 bags delivered this week.

I think for LBS' to survive they *really* need to get into ebike repairs and we need more standards and ease of repair for that to make sense. I don't fault many LBS for not touching ebikes, but I do hope things change for them to become viable since I think they need each other.

Right to repair is an important subject to me. I believe that simple and serviceable designs are a valuable ebike ownership trait. Motors like the BBSHD require few specialized tools and most you probably already have in your tool box. Transportation independence starts on the work bench.

As far as I know we can't link a label to anything, they're just text descriptions. Trying to make a hard linked feed for each city isn't really scalable, but if your location is as Edinburgh, the feed will show you users in your area.

the root issue was !hide being attached to that acct. !hide can be added to a post/acct even without a visible label being used, but as a standalone flag. Now, if labelers should/shouldn't have that power is another question :) hope this clears things up. lmk if you have any more questions!

the other labels you see, like our moderation labels "ableist" "garbage" "carbrain" are configured elsewhere and we set those with a default off/warn/hide and thats exposed to you as an option for each label as you discovered.

behind the scenes: the group "bluesky moderation" are default options that I did not create. the few ! options are special conditions and !hide was used, which is like a shortcut for hiding content.

the labeler settings "warn" "hide" are what gives you control over these things and !hide takes control away which is why we rarely use (again just for really graphic posts) the person who labeled this also said it shouldn't have been an acct label either, just a post label

mk, talked to the person who labeled the acct and looked into it as well. in addition to labels, we can also flag posts/accts with !hide !warn etc and this account mistakenly had !hide, which isn't a feature we use outside of individual graphic posts.

Resolved! Sorry, this took longer than expected to get to. I appreciate you bringing this to my attention! A challenge to a project like this is not knowing what is/isn't correct and trusting the dataset and not being able to identify bugs that do things like this.

Yes! Hills can suck on a bike and do present a problem. Flat cities probably can more easily have higher cycling rates, but hilly cities can still get there even if it's more challenging for city planners. ebikes really are a game changer here too. I'd love to see more subsidies

We used an open dataset, built a parser and let it go. We've had to tune it for different countries as it sometimes behaves differently so that might be the case. Or it's the dataset--I'll review as soon as I can!
