I'm under no illusions about how things are or what the trajectory is. But I'm also excited for the future because that is where I will hang out with the people I care about and do the things I like doing, or haven't done before. Weird but telling that this holds less appeal for much richer people.

Just ahead of Feather Trail's demo launch (next month!!) I've got the "lifer encounter" minigame inferring its background from the top-down view, reprojecting and scaling the tiles and 2D scenery. A red-bordered stink bug, Edessa rufomarginata. It’s one of the largest stink bugs I’ve seen, about 2cm long. 🌿🌱

A blue-green insect shaped like a shield with a bright orange border all the way around its body. Legs and antennae are also orange.

cassin's vs western kingbird

The trail crossed a rocky avalanche slope where I spotted this pika. I sat quietly for 20 mins so it could get used to me. It scurried between a few holes in the rocks and would run up to me, stop and then run away. It didn't seem afraid or aggressive, just curious. #mammals 🌿 #wildlifephotography

A curious pika runs up close to me (~1.7m away according to camera data).

The same pika would scurry off to this hole between some rocks and watch me.

The pika has what looks like an old battle wound - a notch on its left ear.
