You know it's important when I'm (briefly) returning to Bluesky to post about it. Make Annalynn real

FazDude (adios!) (check pinned) @fazdude.bsky.social · 03/10/2025

put some more thought into it and tl;dr: leaving bluesky bit more elaboration in the screenshots below, and links to other socials in replies so long and thanks for all the fish

So I'm not gonna be all eloquent and soapboxy here since I don't really see a need to, but yeah, I think I’m done with Bluesky, if not GREATLY shrinking my presence on it. I’m not gonna delete my account (or even deactivate it for that matter, barring the worst) but don’t expect much coming from here going forward.

The reasons for this are twofold. Firstly, there’s all the bullshit the moderation team is up to. Now, I left Twitter before Elon took over, so I don’t have any first-hand comparisons to make, but a moderation team that seems almost gleeful in shunning the audience it’s garnered through censorship-heavy TOS and allowing problematic folks in when people are very vocally against letting bigots and other hate speech on the platform is… yeah, a bad sign.

The second reason is… I think I’m just kinda done with post-based social media in general. I’ve tried a few times on different platforms, but either they just didn’t really “click” with me (Tumblr) or got so unstable that I wasn’t really having fun anymore (Twitter, Reddit, and now Bluesky). Moreover, I need to realize that the constant doomscrolling and feelings of helplessness and uncertainty that social media brings just isn’t worth any reward for me. I’m very grateful for all my followers (seriously how tf did I get 800+), but I gotta make mental health more of a priority in my life, and I think dropping most social media is gonna be a BIG step in that. I’ve tried to compromise, I’ve tried to tailor the experience, but at this point I think the best solution is to go full cold turkey. Sucks, but what can ya do.

The good news is I’m not falling off the face of the Internet entirely. I’ll still be on Discord and Unvale, which I think is where a good chunk of my followerbase comes from anyway. I’m also gonna try and revive my Newgrounds account for art stuff, so if you’re following me for that, mosey on over there.

(continued in next pic)

(I also might try Reddit again? I know I just said I would go cold turkey from social media, but my Reddit experience wasn’t near as miserable as the worst of Twitter/Bluesky, so maybe I can give that another whirl in the relatively-distant future. I dunno. We’ll see. if it happens i’ll gladly take the inevitable wholesome 100 chungus jokes on the chin)

So yeah, this is where it ends. Again, I’m honored to have had a platform here, and I appreciate all the support I’ve gotten, but the cons are starting to outweigh the pros.

Bluesky, it was fun while it lasted.

A little tribute to @swirlymuse.bsky.social who sadly passed earlier this year. She was the best person in the world at drawing Super Sonic and one of the kindest people I knew #sonic #STC #art

Two coloured sketches of STC Super Sonic. On the left hes flying into the air, fists clenched leaving a white trail behind him. On the right he is standing and holding out a green emerald while fire forms at his feet

Inspired by Day 2 of #stormythoc_tober2025: Coffee Shop AU! Thought this'd be fun to do with Casp and Fran. They're from a school-based story, stands to reason they'd have a part-time job in a cafe. #art #oc #oc_tober2025 #mirrorsamuraiart

Art of two OCs, Caspian and Francesca, working at a coffee shop. Both are sixteen years old - Casp is the boy on the left, and Fran is the girl on the right. Casp is handing a coffee out with a wink, while Fran is writing down another customer's order on a notepad.

Day 3! #oc #ocsky Today's word is "crystal", bringing us Lady Disma! (If I end up leaving Bluesky, I'll continue to do the challenge elsewhere, so don't worry about that.)

Today's word is crystal!

On the mortal side of the Arcana universe, there is a kingdom known as Fortuna; Unlike Arcana, which promotes a sense of humble unity and cooperation, Fortuna favors those with wealth and riches, leaving anyone unlucky enough to keep up with very little. Among the high and mighty of Fortuna is none other than Lady Disma, whose haughty and seemingly proper demeanor proudly displays her vain and greedy lifestyle. No matter how much she has, she must simply have more, and she has little care for who she hurts or scams to get it.

Lady Disma's main weapon is a magical staff, with which she can attract crystals and other gemstones like a magnet or shoot off energy beams which can turn objects and people to crystalized statues (though the effect is only temporary on living beings). If she really has to get her hands dirty, though, she can transform her body into pure crystal, buffing her strength and durability at the cost of being unable to perform other magical feats.

As Bluesky becomes more and more unappealing due to management's actions, I might try and spruce up my Newgrounds page a bit. Y'know, just in case. (also moots; feel free to drop your NG links below if you have 'em!)

(reposted to fix a typo!) Day 2! #oc #ocsky Today's word is "cemetery", bringing us *two* characters; Reagen and Corpella!

Today's word is cemetery!

With so many cemeteries in Soulstyce, somebody's gotta keep them clean. Enter Reagen and Corpella, the ghostly groundskeepers of the kingdom! I imagine the two having a big brother/little sister dynamic, with their outfits resembling a valet and a maid respectively.

Reagen is the silent, cold one of the two, taking his duties very seriously and rarely stopping to communicate with anyone. Best case scenario, he just points to the entrance of the cemetery as a means of telling you to go away. Nevertheless, he's very good at his job, and anyone causing trouble in the cemetery has him (and his very large scythe) to answer to.

Contrastingly, Corpellia is a socialable sweetheart of a specter, happy to chat with anyone while performing her duties and often going out of her way to be polite and accomodating to the cemetery's undead denizens. Do be warned, though; If a very unlucky someone presses her buttons too much, she'll snap into a frightening frenzy of rage. No wonder the two are related.

Character reference for Absinthe the Tiefling and Gutter, her weird dog. Absinthe is a pink tiefling with red eyes, sharp yellow teeth, black mohawk, and shorter dark pink horns.

She has skull pauldrons on her shoulders, and is holding an axe guitar beside her.

Her dog? Gutter has dark green fur and bright green eyes. He has spikes from his snout that go down his back.

Inspired by Day 1 of #stormythoc_tober2025: Redesign an old OC! Wanted to finally give a new design to Floren Larkspur! A character I've always wanted to give a redraw but never really did. #art #oc #oc_tober2025 #mirrorsamuraiart

Artwork of an OC, Floren Larkspur. He is an elven man with reddish-brown hair and glasses. He wears a bare-shouldered, scholarly outfit that is primarily made of leaves, and is seen adjusting his glasses.

On the top left is Floren's old art (from 2022? I think?), which I included for a handy little comparison. Notably, he didn't have glasses back then.

Another version of Floren's new art, with an orange outfit instead of green. I made this as an experiment because I didn't want all of my Leaf Legion characters to be wearing green leaves. (also we're deep into autumn now so it fits in that regard)
