A glorious mail day. Arrow keeps putting out the definitive releases of the Golden Princess titles, so I am sure that the ABT trilogy will also be excellent. I didn't know about The Guyver 2 fiasco until after ordering it. Oh well. It's so exciting to finally have a 4K of Riki-Oh.

My copies of Arrow's A Better Tomorrow trilogy, the Toy Robot release of The Guyver 2, and 88 Films' 4K release of Riki-Oh: The Story of Riki.

Inside the movie theater. The film has been paused and the movie screen lets the audience know: “PAUSED FOR VIP.” Our man stands at the center of the theater with his hands raised and a VIP badge attached to a lanyard around his neck. He’s part of the Cinema VIP program but at what cost? The other patrons have become increasingly upset with the pauses. A chorus of angry voices rain down on the VIP from around the theater. “Sit down, toilet boy,” one woman yells. She’s had enough of his potty breaks. “Oh COME on.” “Get this guy outta here.” “He ruined the trailers, too.” “Take his badge.” “3 times?!” “Put a diaper on.”

Our man in the window is in no mood for this. He lets us know, “Oh, I am in no mood for this.” His dog looks out the window as well, wagging its tail.

Fantasia (1940) inspired drawing. I think I could’ve gone a little heavier with the chaos outside but we’ll try again with fresh drawings this October. I like how the clouds turned out. Trying to balance my sloppy lines with more detail can be tricky but I think we achieved a good result.

#LetterboxdFriday I just saw The Weight earlier tonight and it's excellent. Prison On Fire is possibly the best prison movie that I have personally seen. Tremors remains perfect and the Arrow 4K is fantastic. A Colt Is My Passport is one I got to see on the big screen and yeah, it rules.

Stan Winston's original Predator face. To me this is the epitome of practical effects. I've never seen something quite so perfectly convincing as this anywhere else, rivaled only by the Xenomorph, but this still tops it to me. This just looks like a real fucking alien monster.
