Micrscopy images of cleared cerebral brain tissue showing penetrating blood vessels (white) in mice - magenta cells are perivascular fibroblasts and cyan cells are perivascular macrophages - in control mice, both cell types are near the vessel termini by postnatal day 10 but in 'cKO' mice that lack expression of a tyrosine kinase receptor PDGFRa in fibroblasts, both the fibroblasts and macrophages are only partially covering the vessels.
