the way some people are using "we don't know what the victim wants" right now feels very weird. of course if a rape victim isn't publicly known or hasn't spoken about her rapist no one should talk about what justice means for them, or be advocating for them without their consent.

People have warned that purity culture censorship will categorize certain kinds of bodies as pornographic or obscene and now we have it stated clearly thanks to furaffinity for sharing the demands that other, more mainstream (and protected) platforms refuse to be transparent about

Butler’s hybrid future disrupts familiar timelines of aging and reproduction. In doing so, it opens up liberatory possibilities for a relationship between parents and trans children that isn’t beholden to these normative chronologies.

Silent Hill Townfall is such a mixed bag. Just finished it and I'm going to try playing it again to see how I like it when I'm not trying to figure things out and getting lost. Curious about different endings.

Shirley Jackson always knows how to start a book

Excerpt from the opening paragraph of “we have always lived in the castle”:

“My name is Mary Katherine Blackwood. I am eighteen years old, and I live with my sister Constance. I have often thought that with any luck at all I could have been born a werewolf, because the two middle fingers on both my hands are the same length, but I have had to be content with what I had. I dislike washing myself, and dogs, and noise. I like my sister Constance, and Richard Plantagenet, and Amanita phalloides, the death- cup mushroom. Everyone else in my family is dead.”

It's another case of "If a license to view and/or play digital media isn't permanent downloadable ownership, piracy isn't stealing." I hate that Korea's manhwa scene is all digital because none of these platforms last and once there's no license, the series is just GONE FOREVER.

the problem with writing fic in a new fandom is that you start out with a simple concept for a oneshot, and then you start putting all your thoughts about these characters in it because who knows if you'll write another fic in this fandom. and now it's a damn character study

A notebook page demonstrating planning with the Alistair method. On one side there is a list of tasks. On the other are columns for each day of the week where each task is marked to do or done.
