Lastly, do you actually think a human drivers wouldn’t have killed this child? “The child ran across the street from behind a double-parked SUV towards the school and was struck by the Waymo AV,” NHTSA said in a document describing the incident that necessitated their “preliminary evaluation.””

As noted in the article, the car drives itself. It can phone for support in resolving uncertainty, such as proceeding or reversing after it finds itself in an unlabeled farmers market.

I mean let’s be clear that human drivers are stupid enough they move the street closed signs and drive around them. Also, saying “vehicles piloted via a cell connection to another continent” shows either a willful misrepresentation or an actual misunderstanding of how Waymos work.

Look this isn’t great but the comment saying they needed a street closed sign is right…

Also, I would point out that an LLM can be deterministic if configured this way. There's no technological barrier to it, the randomness is a feature though which is why it's enabled.

Here's the top of my receipt. This includes $15 honey which was not for the meals. I purchased food for three meals. Each meal is approximately 4 servings. One is turkey based, one is rice/beans, and one is a pasta with zucchini.
Whole Foods Market receipt, dated September 1, 2026 in Berkeley CA. Total: $82.32. Items purchased: 21. Only two items are visible: Whole Foods Market Ground Turkey (16 oz) $6.99, Whole Foods Market Tuna (price not visible).

Being in denial is what makes people resistant to a suggestion because it misaligns with their worldview - if they were truly just not up to date with trends, then a recommendation to not post your children's photos online would be the point where they learn that they should not do this.

For 3rd party apps they have a cap on download count and currently are not offering it at all above the cap. For local usage, they're metering it differently for iCloud+ subscribers. My guess is the current pricing is semi-sustainable given the way iCloud+ is priced.

@withframes.com Any possibility of a "reverse order" option after/while importing files? My film lab sends me the photos in reverse order so when I import them they're in reverse order - I would have to do one frame at a time to get them in the right order.

Here's an old favorite galaxy that I'm glad to have had the chance to process some new observations for. This is also known as the Black Eye galaxy, and is among the most striking galaxies that Hubble has looked at. Previously a Hubble Heritage image release, new imagery is around 2.5 times the resolution of the old WF/PC2 imagery. That means more refined details are visible, especially If you are able to zoom all the way in. In fact, the texture of the individual stars forming even the smooth, redder, non star-forming parts the galaxy are now revealed. If you do zoom in, don't mistake that grainy, noisy texture as actual noise. Those are stars!

I went ahead and did use some old WFPC2 data just to show glowing hydrogen gas. This usually works well without lowering the image quality, despite the disparity in resolution.

Data from the following proposals were used to create this image:
PHANGS-HST: Linking Stars and Gas throughout the Scales of Star Formation
The Smallest Nuclear Black Holes

Red: WFC3/UVIS F814W+WFPC2 F656N
Green: WFC3/UVIS F555W
Blue: WFC3/UVIS F438W+F336W+F275W

North is 142.85° clockwise from up.
