Please don’t assume anything, Alberta. Vote against the Russian and American-fuelled separation self-sabotage. Send a strong message to the rest of Canada that we’re in this together. Foreign actors want you to vote for your own Brexit or Trump… or to help them win by just staying home.

This Thanksgiving, I am grateful for the country we are privileged to call home. Canada’s greatest strength has always been its people, our diversity, our shared values, and our determination to face challenges together. May we never take for granted the blessings of freedom, peace, and unity.

Paris has been praised in recent years for their visionary, progressive city-building, but they don’t get enough credit for just being really pragmatic! Everything they’ve been doing is common sense. They’re moving a lot more people with less space while cleaning the air and cooling the city.

Media is reporting that the Alberta separatist side of referendum fund-raising, and thus spending, is greatly outpacing the “stay in Canada” side. In the “on-line-chatter” too. That’s not surprising when you remember that separatism is being pushed by Russian and American disinformation purveyors.

Climate change is not a hoax, and it is not a matter of scientists simply "believing" in it. It is an empirical finding supported by decades of observations, measurements, experiments, and physical evidence. This planet is warming due to CO2 emissions and that's as real as you are!

Wake up, babe. The Prime Minister just dropped “hydronym”.
The name Lake Ontario comes from the Wendat word Ontari’io, which, appropriately, means “the lake is beautiful, the lake is big”.

The name is more than 400 years old, predating both the Confederation of Canada and the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America.

We know that America is changing. Their trading relationships, their foreign policies, their national monuments, their hydronyms.

Canadians also know that naming reality means calling it Lake Ontario – then, now and always.

I appreciate that Dolly Parton refused to participate in "dress respectability" and, by her own account, modeled her aesthetic after a town "tramp," who she thought was beautiful. She separated aesthetics from character and understood "classiness" to be about how you treat people, not how you dress.

Fun exchange on Reddit in which an Alberta driver learns they're paying TEN TIMES what a Quebec driver is paying for insurance on a 20-year-old vehicle.

The insurance on my 20 year old car (just basic, not even comprehensive) has gone from $1100 in 2023 to $2300 this year. It jumped over 40% this renewal alone because I moved to a different part of the city. The so called “good driver rate cap” of 7.5% doesn’t apply if you change anything in your policy. No claims ever, very frustrating.

My mind cannot comprehend this! Because I moved in May, my last two payments for my 2025-26 policy (with the added “high-danger postal code) were increased from $130 to $236/month to account for the address change. Ok course, my broker failed to mention any of this, so that was a fun surprise before I got the updated paperwork.
