You can make a bad faith argument and I will ignore it. You can make an argument using poor grammar and I will ignore it. When you combine the two, for some reason, I turn into a dog that that heard the doorbell.

Without saying your age, what is your favourite movie that came out when you were 20 years old? (It could have been from Clerks or Shallow Grave but NBK is the one that still is in my pile of DVDs.) I am sure that this is a red flag to someone.

There was a carousel on the ‘Gram about the nihilism of GenX and how we are part of the problem. Cool. Good luck. Leave me alone. I’m going to put my headphones on and listen to Talk Talk. But seriously, this generational warfare is irritating at the very least.

One of the things that I love about #music is the discovery/rediscovery aspect of it. That band you hear because they’re on the same label as a band that friends saw at a bar in Brooklyn is a discovery and having that curated by a toaster is a step backwards. youtu.be/aoqyFYQlD5Y?...

I have been interviewing at a couple of different places recently, and part of my reasoning is that pitching clients for our services has become a grind. It's not that the potential clients don't need help, they do. It's that they don't understand the depth of their issues. Insert Tolstoy quote...

There is a new segment challenge happening in my area. The issue with it is that it is in the middle of suburbia with zero mass transit to the area. Do I ride my bike 20 miles (largely on rail trail) to run it or do I say, "nah" and work on my stuff closer to home?

Part of me wants the Mets (or the Yankees) to sign him largely so t7L can make “Nobody Beats The Miz” t-shirts (or the Yankee equivalent of The 7 Line, I guess, I mean, I don’t know if that’s a thing) because that would be fun & retro for fans of a certain age. youtu.be/1y6MUPkDufU?...

There’s an account on the ‘Gram about businesses in small towns & the person behind it thinks that the problems stem from things aside from the businesses themselves. In my experience, small businesses run into capital and real estate issues. It’s that simple. They have money problems.

Liz Phair played locally (no, because the last two times I had tickets for her, she cancelled, and I had seen her play a private fundraiser pre pandemic) and two different friends shared her playing "Mesmerizing" which has become the song that I sing to George when we're on a walk. (Paying the tax.)

Ted Lasso S4 is, man, I don’t know. The episodes being longer is unhelpful. The comedy with heart is gone in favor of vague memories of Thirtysomething. The characters have been flanderized and I have zero reason to root for some of them. Plus “Irish names are spelled weird” is just played out.

My son and I were at a bar and he checked his phone as his work thread was “blowing up”. I asked him if he was getting paid for this, and he said “no.” I told him do not give them unpaid labor. I have never seen a bartender more enthusiastically nod from a conversation they were overhearing.
