Oh, you still think Carmella isn't trans? Have you ever seen weirdos devote this much text to why a cis person doesn't have a place in their society? Checkmate, doubters.

A facebook post from a group about Count Chocula and the rest of the cereal monsters: When people say they dislike Carmella Creeper (the character) it's not that they hate the idea of the character. They very specifically dislike the design choices made for the character that makes her not fit in with the rest.

She doesn't seem to have been designed by people understood the historical legacy of the existing characters, what worked about them, and what would need to be done to create a new character that fits into the existing ecosystem of the last 50 years.

If she has been more of an outdated looking witch dressed in Disco clothing she would have captured the same vibe of Chocula, FrankenBerry, Boo Berry, Frute Brute, and Yummy Mummy, who at the time of their creation were already iconic concepts of monster archetypes that avoided being infuenced by modern pop culture tropes of the time of their creation.

Chocula, Frankenberry, Boo Berry and Frute Brute were all created in the 70s and their design didn't exploit anything we would associate with 70s pop culture. So when they did do a story where they went to a disco, THE MONSTERS GO DISCO in 1979, the contrast between monsters from the 1800s, made popular in the 20s/30s/40s/50s & 60s, really felt humorously out of place.

With Carmella, they created a monster that existed in the present. Who looked like a goth from present day. Wouldn't it have been more fun if she was born in the 70s and dressed like an underground punk scene type who didn't realize that The Ramones or Sid and Nancy are no longer considered "NEW"

The thing that stands out the most is they made her "cool". These monsters are supposed to be afraid of each other, and humorously outdated, and not cool.

That being said, here's a cool Becca Whitaker take on Carmella for you fans out there.
