Ridiculous. We purposefully tasked China and other countries with this production. Go back to the discourse in the 2000s and it was "why do it here when it can be cheaper from there?" Meanwhile we're becoming more reliant on American gas when they threaten us everyday.

This is completely outrageous and disgusting. This must immediately be blocked by Congress and Trump should be impeached for this. The US is now funding Putin’s war machine as he murders civilians including children. We are lost as a country.

One thing about people citing slower car travel times on Bloor West following the bike lane install is, well, that was kind of the point. Drivers were **averaging** nearly 20 km/h over the current speed limit at spots. Road revamp has brought speeds closer to limit. www.toronto.ca/wp-content/u...

Skydance now owns Nick, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Comedy Central, and MTV, effectively ending US TV animation as we know it. Countless jobs will be lost, and fewer new shows will be created. An apocalyptic scenario for cartoons, yet it's maybe the 5th-worst thing about the Paramount-WB merger!

Most people don't pay that close attention and when they get to the point of 'eh, I think its time for a change', they don't think about it too critically. Eby made a massive mistake here. He should have served for another year and then resigned and allowed for a leadership race to hit the reset

I definitely understand that! I'm in Scarbs & the streets are very quiet at night for the most part. Streets like Kingston, Kennedy, etc (throughout Scarb) are so underutilized its painful to see. To your point, sixplexes as of right should be province wide imo.

Then don't? Many do (like me). I think you might be extrapolating out what I'm saying as exclusive development. I'm not saying exclusively to put density on arterial roads, but all arterial roads should be densified, particularly in Toronto, particularly adjacent any street car, LRT, subway line.

And I'd argue that grid, and more specifically price, stability is at risk because of our exposure (again in Ontario/Quebec/Atlantic Canada) to American gas. Trump is already floating a diesel export ban. The strategic risk it poses to half the country is significant.

Put another way, Ford wants to spend more on removing bike lanes in Toronto ($48M) than he's spent protecting all of Ontario's businesses from an international trade war. Ontario deserves serious leadership, that follows through on promises, and actually puts people before profits.

Where did I say shut off all gas? My point is we can push it back to the margin like it was previously in provinces like Quebec, Ontario, and Atlantic Canada generally. Good heavens. I already said nuclear + renewables in the context of Ontario.

Your gas plants broke and it was solar and storage that kept working. Storage can be done in climate controlled ways. Again, gas only helps if its stable. In central/eastern Canada it comes from America. Whats stable about that right now? www.theenergymix.com/alberta-prem...

Historically, gas was used for peaking situations (which nuclear can't), its increasingly being used for baseload though which was the realm of nuclear. The reality is nuclear is expensive & takes a long time to build. Solar, wind and storage are the cheapest/fastest sources to deploy.
