Our little one just made a joke which I found hilarious: Ten little monkeys were jumping on the bed; one made a backflip and that was very cool!

I think Lakland has perfected the MusicMan Stingray design with their 55-94 (and 55-02) design. Just like how Sadowsky has perfected the Fender Jazz Bass with their Vintage JJ.
US Made MusicMan Stingray 4H I used to have back in 2013Indonesian made Lākland 55-02 I own now.

TIL there's no unsigned 64-bit -> floating-point 64-bit conversion in x86_64, so you have to build it up from other instructions. Here's the codegen by gcc-15.2 with -O3, it uses different code paths based on the highest bit of the input:

I like the idea of calling American music a-pop, a-rock, etc, and American shows a-drama.
Screenshot of a social media exchange where user svinto says, "i'm going to start calling american music a-pop. for no reason," followed by a tag from a user cordy-muses reading, "#my mutuals are posting about their a-dramas again."

Slightly off topic about diff utilities. Apparently `diff3` is the one of two remaining GNU tools used in the FreeBSD codebase. The other one is `dialog`.

Feeling very feely these days. I am about to turn 40. So I indulge myself with some yapping. I have now realised that the local peak of our civilization has ended with the airplane crashing into the twin towers. Everything went downhill from that moment. At least from my millennial perspective.

Here's a brain twister. Hypothetical scenario: Divorced father fails to pay child support for years. Then he dies. The child is grown-up now, so he inherits the father's estate and debts. Will the government require the child to pay out the child support on himself (directly or inderectly)?

Bringing the disruption to Brussels: The European Commission encourages its managers to draft policy-making documents with AI, including "explaining/summarising legislative initiatives". According to a newly released Commission document, this will "boost your team's productivity". 🫢
AI Guide for Managers – adopting and integrating AI in your work
2
I. Identifying work processes for AI integration
AI is a welcome opportunity for Commission staff to become more effective and efficient in daily work processes,
including new services that would not have been possible up to now. In encouraging its use, AI must be an
instrument of support for staff and for human-centric policy making.
Encourage active participation from your staff . Their involvement is essential in
accurately identifying the specific needs that AI can support meeting (also see II)).

This Pluribus ad on a fridge caused a schizophrenic woman named Carol to be hospitalized.
A screenshot of a Reddit post from r/LegalAdviceUK by user Fun-Blueberry-2147. The post describes that the user’s sister, who has schizophrenia, admitted herself to the hospital after believing someone was communicating with her through her smart fridge, which turned out to be an LED screen advertisement. The post explains that she spent two days under monitoring with medication adjustments and that the specific ad she saw included her name, making it especially distressing. The user questions the legality of such targeted or unsettling ads on smart appliances in the UK.
