One of the most influential figures of the art world, Hockney was famous for works such as “A Bigger Splash,” depicting modernist architecture and a glinting swimming pool in Los Angeles.

This is very good on the logical preposterousness of the trans bathroom ban. It simply cannot have been the intention of the Equality Act or the governments which administered it. www.liberalcurrents.com/the-end-of-t...

I think the association of British accents with the ancient world is a bizarre one that is borne out of familiarity rather than anything more meaningful. "Wow Denzel had a Brooklyn accent in GladIIator lol," ok because it makes sense for an ancient Roman to sound like he's from 21st century London.

Peter Cushing's birthday yesterday & Christopher Lee's today, so here's the best fact about them. They loved Looney Tunes cartoons, used to phone each other & do Tweety Pie & Sylvester routines, and were once thrown out of a West End cinema for laughing too loudly and doing all the voices.

Marvel could pay for my healthcare for the rest of my life for a fraction of 1% of profit from Spider-Man Noir, a character whose original comics I edited. For Peter David to die in medical debt, co-creator of Spider-Man 2099 and writer of countless seminal Hulk and X-Factor comics—that's a disgrace
