Absolutely vile framing from the @nytimes.com. Why doesn’t this leave behind hard questions for the media that hounded him? Or the global right-wing that gleefully turned a local matter into an international incident?

This isn't going to do the numbers it should but what I could really go for (what I suspect society might need), is Adam Driver playing Larry Haun, and maybe that's a script I will write come the next winter.

Jeremy Peters and other members of the anti-trans braintrust have covered this issue for *years* and are still so poorly informed about the basic empirics and actors on this beat that they see this statement as a shift rather than a reiteration. Think about how disqualifying that is.

What's really going on here is twofold. First, the anti-trans "reporters" on this issue do not know their own beat. As I've said before, the anti-trans argument is a conspiracy theory. It posits that the medical field is handing out surgeries to kids at the slightest hint of gender nonconformity.

A vintage news clip shows a headshot for a writer named Joe Aporopolis with a twity mustache and long hair smoking a pipe. Also, is he wearing Cleopatra eyeliner? I sure hope so.

Editors have a really hard job, and the good ones can make something unreadable readable, and the great ones can make something unreadable into something good. But they're basically invisible, until someone tries to write without one.
