Erin Rutherford @erinrutherford.bsky.social · 09/10/2026My take on this week's announcement, and the direct impacts it will have on all Edmontonians. 0164
Erin Rutherford @erinrutherford.bsky.social · 08/10/2026That’s unequivocally untrue. I’ve never mentioned or complained about the war on cars. I can be supportive of transportation choice and active mode infrastructure without agreeing that this is the best path to get us there. 100
Reposted by Erin RutherfordKeith Gerein @keithgerein.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Guess we'll see what the details are tomorrow, but it appears the UCP gov't has found another way to gut the autonomy of city councils. There's not much left for them to conquer. The disrespect to local voters is real. #yeg #ableg 56129

Erin Rutherford @erinrutherford.bsky.social · 20/08/2026It has and since affordable housing units are many times based on market rents it’s also helped that. 030
Erin Rutherford @erinrutherford.bsky.social · 20/08/2026Lowering housing prices with the new zoning bylaw is not a flaw, it’s the intended policy outcome. 6677
Erin Rutherford @erinrutherford.bsky.social · 14/08/2026I’ve hidden some of the other comments but it’s really sad to see the lack of compassion, hope and care for other humans. We live in a time where this is becoming normalized as rhetoric. Let’s not normalize it. For context this is about a voluntary program for city staff to administer naloxone. 180
Erin Rutherford @erinrutherford.bsky.social · 11/08/2026Agreed - I tried to articulate that. I feel like we’ve dine a lot and these additional costs won’t add value. I spoke to it slightly on the motion - but you articulated it well. 240

Erin Rutherford @erinrutherford.bsky.social · 23/07/2026Both those cities have health authority - we don’t in Alberta. I think it makes a huge difference, but likely would not happen with this current government when they don’t even give us autonomy on the things that are already within our jurisdiction (e.g., bike lanes). 150
Erin Rutherford @erinrutherford.bsky.social · 14/07/2026Edmonton: Storm cleanup is underway! Many roads and rec centres have reopened, but some closures remain. Erin Rutherford @erinrutherford.bsky.social · 24/06/2026I submitted a formal letter to the Police Commission asking them to prioritize a new tow lot location in the asks for the 4year budget. This would remove industrial traffic from playground zones. I am disappointed with their answer & will continue to look for strategies to address this. 010
Erin Rutherford @erinrutherford.bsky.social · 22/06/2026The City of Edmonton has issued an emergency alert due to heavy rainfall pushing the stormwater system to capacity. Localized flooding and sewer backups are being reported. To prevent further backups, all residents are asked to immediately reduce the strain on our system. 001

Erin Rutherford @erinrutherford.bsky.social · 16/06/2026The City of Edmonton is officially the first in Alberta to offer free access to self-service sports equipment lending stations! We are lucky to have two of these brand-new stations right here in Ward Anirniq! Next time you want to get active, you don't even need to bring your own gear. 060
Reposted by Erin RutherfordAndrew Knack @andrewknack.bsky.social · 16/06/2026I am appalled by the hateful graffiti discovered outside a Muslim school and daycare here in Edmonton. Erin Rutherford @erinrutherford.bsky.social · 12/06/2026Good points. I wouldn’t say that all people with cars are wealthy, but maybe need a car out of necessity. We’re trying to change that - but it’s the reality today. But I like that suggestion of the revenue going to transit. We’ve talked benefit districts but this is an interesting idea. 220
Erin Rutherford @erinrutherford.bsky.social · 11/06/2026New Blog! Our roads are heavily subsidized, often benefiting out-of-town drivers who don't pay local taxes. To fix this, the City is looking at a major parking overhaul to shift maintenance costs off property taxes and onto user fees. Do these updates strike the right "sweet spot"? Erin Rutherford @erinrutherford.bsky.social · 27/04/2026I am concerned that Bill 28 threatens the "public" in our public libraries by imposing provincial overreach that undermines intellectual freedom- the fundamental right of every Edmontonian to seek information and explore ideas without government censorship. www.erinrutherford.ca/more_than_ju... 0118
Erin Rutherford @erinrutherford.bsky.social · 16/04/2026Today I formally asked the Edmonton Police Commission to prioritize the EPS tow lot in the upcoming budget. Erin Rutherford @erinrutherford.bsky.social · 13/03/2026I am profoundly disappointed by the recent actions of the EPC & EPS Chief. The approval of this trip profoundly broke public trust & showed a failure of accountability.
