I found it to be of little use in writing anything of substance and I haven't used AI to write my stories. I've come to hate LLMs and I would never participate in a similar study today. I have been vocally against AI.

In 2022, before Chatgpt and everything that came next, I participated in this study. It was framed as a research on a new tool that I could try and offer my opinion on. I didn't know that it was trained on copyrighted material.

Last night I was doomscrolling reddit and this post was like… an unexpected poem and also now I want to whisper little love spells over everything I make. For my own good as well as for others.
A screencap of a Reddit post in the r/crochet subreddit by user Ragdoll232. The subject line reads “My MIL tells me Yarn has Memory.” The post reads “I know she means for shape, but I just want to whisper words of love into this sweater I’m making my husband so it remembers and can remind him how loved he is.”

The cover for Uncanny Magazine Issue 57, “Forever Traveler” by Antonio Javier Caparo: In the background, a sky of a light purple color with clouds has a flock of white birds flying by. A tall, majestic tree stands in the middle, trunk thick and illuminated by the sun. A bald man in an astronaut's suit is sitting with his legs crossed and eyes closed. He looks like he is meditating; on his right side, his helmet rests on the ground, and the quote says, "We ship ourselves
in the deep blue sea.
Our hands oars,
memories the only compass"
