an absolute sucker for a cotton candy sky

illustration of power lines and a rooftop silhouetted against a cotton candy sky. a faint crescent moon in the top right corner, one single crow on the lines. snowflakes softly falling but THIS TIME the colours are RIGHT it's higher contrast! pinker! sharper! bolder! but still soft :)

Since I've been going through a bunch of games for #TheGameAwards, I wrote about a bunch that I think deserve more attention. Lots of great releases, especially on the indie front! Ft. Canadian devs: @sunsetvisitor.bsky.social, @playhilltop.bsky.social, @orangutanmatter.bsky.social 🇨🇦 🎮

These games didn't get Game Awards nominations, but they absolutely deserve recognition

They might not have been nominated, but they're all winners in my heart.

this @beetlemoses.bsky.social comic is still the most accurate depiction of going out to see a show i've ever seen

a comic by Beetlemoses depicting a man, at first skeptical, having a life changing experience at a concert performance of Big Binky and the Banana Boys. their frontman, Big Binky, is an orangutan, seen wearing sunglasses and shredding on guitar. his bandmates, a conga player and kazoo player, are also orangutans wearing sunglasses.

ok, my hottest hot journalism take is that journalism which relies on paywalls for funding and restricts access to those who cannot afford it or otherwise just cannot be bothered to jump through the hoops to read that content is not accessible journalism, and access matters a ton right now.

Tool-less PC cases like this old ThinkStation make for great sources of mechanical Foley & sound effects 👾 Could see these being useful for the cockpit of a retro futuristic spaceship or mech 🤖 Mics: Rycote HC-22, LOM Geofón, Korg CM-300. #sounddesign #foley #gameaudio #soundeffexts

So at the very beginning of each side of every laserdisc there's a tiny little area of junk/padding before time index 0 and during normal playback it's not visible but the domesday capture will snag it and sometimes it is on some legit Ringu-ass analog horror shit
