Please keep all of your fingers and toes crossed for Hubble. He has surgery on Tuesday to remove a not-cancer-but-kinda-like-cancer tumor on his thigh and apply electrochemotherapy. He's going to be 10 on Thursday, so surgeries are a big deal and I'm quite anxious about it.

This! I've struggled to our my finger on why some "X in STEM" features/events bother me. Beyond "women in STEM" stuff still including me despite me being non-binary (and no, non-binary is not woman-lite), Dr. Guest describes it perfectly. It's feeling like the object of study instead of an equal.

Every time I turn around, Microsoft has found some new sneaky way to try and shove Copilot in my face. I thought I disabled it everywhere (+ I have a strict no-LLMs policy at work), but today I got a Copilot suggestion for my PR title. Had to sort through a bunch of new settings to turn it off.

I've started to describe the experience of living with EDS like D&D. Everything is a dice roll so yes, sometimes I feel fine and I can go for runs and do things. Other times, I roll a nat 1 when picking something up off the floor and dislocate a rib. 🤷

This to me is one of the most worrisome elements: even though recursive training mitigates some of this, the process is exponentially more computationally expensive than a marginally more time-consuming approach that involves human intelligence working in tandem. It’s aggressively inefficient.
