White guy: “The culture at the Nazi bar today is remarkably friendly and inclusive.” No it isn’t. There are non-Nazis having “normal” conversations there, but they’re choosing to do so in a Nazi bar. If you like hanging out in a Nazi bar, don’t be surprised when people judge you for it.

The changing view from Monday evening. Much alt-text.
View from a Boeing 737, sitting just behind the left wing, flying north from Faro, Portugal around 5:30pm. The main cloud deck is still above with the sun just breaking through. Below are scattered cartoon-fluffy clouds. Very little colour.7pm, the sun is setting, silhouetting the wing. Above is a clear sky from slate blue to yellow at the horizon. The cloud deck below is barely illuminated. The sun is just out of frame, but there are two shafts of lens flare reaching in with an orange haze. The last glimpse of the sun, orange on the horizon at 19:10. Parts of the wing are blending in with the dark blanket below, but the tip reaches across the strip of ochre, sand and the fade into deep denim blue above.19:28, the sun has set, but glows an orange stripe at the horizon, with distant ribbons of cloud underlit. The orange fades through vivid blue into inky black, the forked wingtip of the Boeing 737-8200 looking like a shark's tail diving back after a leap.

If it works, that's pretty cool; I didn't think
would ever see this implemented (I also didn't
expect LLMs to exist).
However, this is not something you can PR
here, or anywhere. You sent me a nearly 50k
line diff, unasked for, completely LLM built, and
you somehow expect me to review it. There is
SO MUCH unrelated garbage here. Never
minding all of the docs and Python, you've
somehow touched basically all of the upstream
HDL, which already had MSU1 support, so idk
what in the world you're doing.
This kind of behavior is not acceptable. You are
infringing on the time and brainpower of people
by pushing "your" content that little/no of your
brainpower went into; completely unrequested.
I hope for the sake of all responsible
maintainers that you do not do such a thing
again.
Again, I think it's cool that you and your LLM
supposedly got this to work. It has no place in
my world.

Fun fact: Tesla went with a giant touchscreen instead of knobs for the Model 3 purely to save time and money. Knobs would have required spinning up a whole supply chain. The company spun it as a luxury feature and much of the industry followed suit. But it was always an inferior substitute.

Reuters got some of the IPO docs. Anthropic is a total dog of a company. Spent $12.6bn to make $4.6bn in revenue in 2025, $7.33bn of which was compute costs. Operating loss of $8bn. Losses getting worse year over year. Amazing stuff www.reuters.com/business/fin...
Summary
Companies
• Anthropic IPO could value the company at more than $2
trillion
• Anthropic lost $42 billion in 2025
• Al lab spent $7.33 billion on compute and infrastructure last year
• Operating loss widened to $8.06 billion in 2025 from $2.98 billion in 2024
• Execs, industry analysts have expressed concerns over harms of Al tech
Sept 28 (Reuters) - Anthropic is making a massive bet that Al will transform the global economy more profoundly than industrialization, electricity and the internet, according to its IPO prospectus seen by Reuters.
But the cost to get there will be staggering. Anthropic reported a net loss of $42 billion in 2025, and plans to spend $518 billion on cloud, computing and infrastructure obligations in coming year, according to the
prospectus.

AP Stylebook warns against anthropomorphizing AI systems: “Avoid language that gives them human characteristics… Instead, explain what a system does, how well it performs, who built it and who could be affected by it.”
APStylebook @APStylebook
X.com
Artificial intelligence systems do not think, feel, want or understand. Avoid language that gives them human characteristics. This is called anthropomorphizing, when we ascribe human traits, emotions or behaviors to non-human things, such as animals or inanimate objects.
Instead, explain what a system does, how well it performs, who built it and who could be affected by it.

Fully electric aviation has some major challenges (mostly: batteries are heavy and don't get lighter as they get used up) but I love the idea of decreasing aircraft emissions through a hybrid approach, perhaps as a step toward new, clever solutions for fully electric air transport in the future.
