A hugely embarrassing win for Farage in the Clacton by-election. Reform had been touting a 79% victory. Instead he got 63% against Count Binface who pulled in nearly 27%. Petulantly Farage didn’t turn up for the count to give a speech. The investigation into his finances begins again.

13.4m Britons, including 4m children, live in poverty. 25.3m, including 14.9m working adults and 7.7m children, live below minimum income standard. Work doesn't pay enough, benefits are low, tax system is regressive. Can't banish poverty or get sustained economic growth without redistribution.

No 10 knew Mandelson failed security vetting seven months ago. MI6 didn't clear Mandelson, largely because of concerns over his business links to China. Starmer can't win this debate. Why did he not ask whether Mandelson had got security clearance? If he knew, why did he appoint him?

More and more I see ‘economic growth’ pitched by major health & science players as an ultimate outcome & population health as a vehicle to achieve it. This is ideology. Specifically capitalist ideology. You may agree or disagree but it’s important to acknowledge this is an ideological standpoint.

Can anyone with knowledge please explain how this happens? A 2nd lot of flats in Worthing have been discovered to have their waste water connected to surface water grains, rather than the mains sewers, pumping all their waste directly on to the beach/sea! The beach has a poor water quality rating.
