When the Gatlinburg Wildfires happened in 2016, Dolly gave impacted families $1,000/month to help them get back on their feet. This included my father-in-law, who lost everything in the fire. Dolly gave children in TN free books each month, from birth to the age of five. She was a goddamn saint.

there is no rhyme or reason to an entire “AI” department, much less an AI school. There is no curriculum, as such, because AI is not a school of thought. It has no theory, no method. It’s just a tool. Two or three courses, max, if someone is obsessed with it should suffice.

Almost every single student who has found me this week wants to talk about AI. A couple reflections. One student has taken three AI courses in philosophy, health sciences and comm. They’re basically the same class. As it turns out, it doesn’t take a lot of classes to “learn” ai.

The core argument is that cities like Seattle are so addled by left-wing ideology that they have fallen into dystopia. In reality, the city has never adequately funded harm reduction programs and continues to rely on incarceration to address homelessness. What Powell wants is what we're doing.

Uni library access remains one of the material distinctions between academia's "inside" and "outside." The decimation of library acquisitions budgets has already eroded that distinction. Even with access, "insiders," too, want for resources. Srsly closing libraries?? Why even have a uni?
