I once went down a rabbit hole of reaserching WWI plastic surgery. The work done by those surgeons was amazing. However, it's sad that early on, some lives were lost due to the location and size of the grafts taken to perform the reconstructions

Today is the Pope's funeral. Let's talk about the practice of "SIN-EATING" 🧵 In 19th-century Britain, it was customary during a funeral to provide biscuits for mourners to take away. They were often wrapped and sealed in black wax. Here you see an example of a funeral biscuit wrapper from 1828. 1/8

A wrapper that has yellowed with age. On it is text that reads: "Biscuits for the funeral of Mrs. Oliver. Died November 7th, 1828. Aged 52." Along with a prayer.

A few examples of drag in disney films: Timon from The Lion King, Pleakly from Lilo and Stitch, Genie from Aladdin, and the soldiers from Mulan. I'm sure there's plenty more! Let me know any other examples you can think of!
