Sending so much love to my School of the Wild colleagues; ICSSD teachers, staff, and students; family and friends of those lost; and everyone at Borlaug. This is so incredibly sad, and the whole community is grieving for Hannah and Ahmed.

I've been quiet but busy here in Iowa, collecting TONS of data, crunching metrics, developing impact data & talking to congressional aides. This article is licensed for those who wanna adapt content for your area - go for it! Happy to share how I came up with some of the data. #Section106 #crm🏺

The Trump administration is trying to gut one of the strongest laws protecting tribal sacred sites, burial grounds, and ancestral lands. Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act has worked since 1966. Now a handpicked Council voted to rewrite it..in one week. Here's what at stake.👇

Teaching, outreach, and public programming are consistently undervalued & underpaid across the humanities and sciences, when practitioners know that effectively lighting that *spark* among the public is critical to the sustainability and future of museums, archaeology, science, etc.

Capping off my latest trip back to Ireland, had a wonderful lunch with my former advisor & mentor Kieran O'Conor today. Rathcroghan yesterday, Clonmacnoise last week, coffee with Conor Newman, visits with old flatmates, holy wells, and lots of wonderful conversations with @ealadubh.bsky.social
A stone monument above a holy well. It's engraved with a St. Brigid's cross and says, "Tobar Bhrighde, St. Brigid's Well" The Irish royal inauguration site of Rathcroghan in Roscommon, appearing as a large earthen mound in a green pasture with a mostly cloudy sky in the background The entrance to Oweynagat Cave,Cave of the Cats and entrance to the Irish Otherworld,is also said to be the home of the Morrigan. It's a small muddy entrance below a hawthorn tree, capped by a lintel stone. The round stone tower and a stone cross at Clonmacnoise, early Christian complex.
