Now is an excellent time to consider going plant based. It's better to do it by choice than have it forced upon you when H5N1 gets worse. If nothing else, try and reduce consumption of meat, eggs and dairy and ensure all are fully cooked.

We want so badly to believe that our heat pumps, electric cars, and solar panels will save us, but those are all hugely resource intensive and unsustainable. As my daughter brilliantly pointed out "we want to Jetsons our way out of the climate crisis when we really have to Flintstones our way out".
