Dear Bluesky users, here's a quick guide: Bluesky makes a tool/feature which seems pointless to you, but does not affect you in any way 👍 Good reaction: offhand comment that it's a meh idea, ignoring it completely 👎 Bad reaction: "who asked for this", "nobody wants this", "fuck off with this"

we have an idea for communities in the app that we're calling "spaces" — places where people can gather around shared interests or social groups. here's a peek at some early prototypes. these are explorations, not polished or final. looking for feedback, esp from community builders 👀

v1.132 is live! Starter Packs are one of the best ways to find new people to follow—but how do you find the Starter Packs? As of today, look for them right in the main search box. You'll see the results under the Starter Packs tab.

Screenshot of the Bluesky app showing someone searching for Starter Packs whose names include the keyword "art." We see results that include "Bluesky for Art History," "Design and Art Folk," and "Coven Café Art Club."

We know not everyone wants to be featured in someone else's Starter Pack, so we're making it easier to opt out. Just open the Starter Pack, tap the three-dot icon at the top of the page, and select "Opt out of Starter Pack."

A graphic with screenshots of the Bluesky app, including a menu option that says "Opt out of starter pack."

The text reads: "Opt out of starter packs. Don't want to be in someone else's starter pack? Now you can remove yourself from it."
