longer required physical activity. Without exercise,
our muscles atrophy.
I predict we'll need gyms for our brains too, once Al

Started playing PROSE AND CODES on Steam - a cipher puzzle game - and learned the word DIAPASON (Latin from Greek from the early 1400s). It's a harmonious sound, originally related to the octave interval in the diatonic scale. #AmResearching
"...one hears no sound save the tremendous diapason of the silence of the ages..." Quote from The Valley of the Giants by Peter B Kyne.

Because of WHUMPTOBER (during which Tumblr fanfic writers intentionally put blorbos in danger, hurt/comfort, and traumatize them), I learned that a precursor to calling it WHUMP is GET-EM, particularly 1970s GET-SPOCK/GET-KIRK stories. WHUMP (2002) comes from the Stargate fandom. #CutthroatCompounds

Unlimited fonts
Stretch them

No whitespace

I’ll say it; I think this is bad. I think there’s growing pressure to talk about AI in this kind of coded language that destroys understanding, rather than facilitating it. People want you to recite a list of its supposed weaknesses as a reassurance for themselves, not to inform others.

Nice to have a citation for the stuff we all sort of assume to be true but question if it's just our own biases making it look that way
Screenshot from the article in the quoted post, saying "Piff and his colleagues found that upper-class drivers were more likely to cut other cars off at junctions and ignore pedestrians at crossings. Wealthier people also appeared more willing to lie at work. In one experiment, volunteers were left alone with a jar of sweets ostensibly meant for children. When the researchers returned, upper-class people had snaffled nearly twice as many candies as lower-class people.

“The general pattern seems to be that with wealth and rising power, you become less engaged with the needs of others and less burdened by the needs of social relationships,” Piff said. “Taking candy from children might be the least of our worries but it’s emblematic of the tendency to prioritise one’s own needs over those of others.”

What these people are doing is playing a simple word-substitution game with normal slurs - quite openly so - and then reveling in the fact they can say the thing openly. It’s only fun to them because of the ways it mimics actual bigotry. They’re not making a real point about AI or whatever.

BERGAMOT: the flavor in Earl Grey tea (and my favorite lotion), is from the BERGAMOT ORANGE, named after BERGAMO, ITALY in Lombardy, which was once conquered by Celts. BERGAMO the city comes from ideas about MOUNTAINS and HOMES. And LOMBARDY comes from LANGOBARDI, maybe because they had long beards.
