i try to take the tech world seriously to better understand it but the fact that you can apparently raise a bunch of money by proposing "what if Linux was racist?" does make this more difficult

I'm not neurotypical. Having computer assisted AR to navigate *gestures vaguely around* ... all this would be life changing. But I know what Meta is and allowing them to surveil me and everyone/everything around me is too high a cost to pay.

@baweaver.bsky.social catching up after some time offline, but just saw your move to your own webpage. Highly encouraged (and wish I had the spoons to do enough that it'd make sense for me). Any chance you'd be willing to provide a full-text RSS feed? Current feed only has summaries.

Computer programs aren't smarter than humans. They're only as smart as (and contain all the biases of) the humans who made them, and idk why that's such a difficult concept for a lot of y'all.

One of the more misogynistic takes currently trending in the AI policy space is "women use less AI than men because they have less tech literacy" Ok but have you considered that women use less AI than men because we have more tech literacy?

The big difference, is that after the 2 white people were killed, Senate Democrats are making the call to not fund ICE more. As they should.♥️👍🏿 But after cops killed more Black people than any year *in recorded US history*, right after Floyd and BLM, Senate Dems supported *increasing* cop funding.🤦🏿‍♂️

Anyone, and I mean absolutely anyone, that tries to tell me not to point out that Black folk are being killed and detained at 10X to 100X the rate, gets brushed back. ICE shot and killed 2 people in January 2026. That is horrific. Cops shot and killed 28 Black people in January 2024. Twenty eight.

Alt: Gif of Magnitude from Community— a Black man wearing oblong/rectangular glasses, grey dress slacks, a blue dress shirt, and a sliver, black, and white tartan tie, with his hair in cornrows— throwing a brick through an interior office window and emphatically yelling gesturing his signature catch phrase ("Pop Pop") and attendant gesture (leaning back with knees bent and pumping both arms down from above his head in a kind of inverse "raise the roof").
