One of the people ICE re-arrested in NYC on Wednesday was a man who was previously separated from his wife and daughter in 2023. They'd been diligently following every rule and restriction the government placed on them. None of that mattered; ICE re-arrested him anyway, again separating the family.
Colombian migrant father reunites with family after separation, detention at Texas-Mexico border
“I didn’t want to leave, and I cried like never before,” the dad told ABC News.

By Penelope Lopez ,Cydney Tucker and Allie Weintraub
September 13, 2023, 8:09 AM ET

A Colombian migrant father reunited with his partner and 10-year-old daughter in Los Angeles after being apart for more than two weeks following their separation by U.S. border authorities in Texas.

The couple, Ambar and Jaen, made the treacherous journey to seek asylum in the United States with their daughter, Aranza. The couple asked ABC News not to use their last names because of safety concerns. Like many migrant families, they left everything behind in their home countries, fleeing what they say were unsafe conditions – all for a better future for their little girl.2:41 p.m.: Four men are walked out in handcuffs by masked agents. One is Jaen, Ambar’s husband. Her 12-year-old daughter screams and runs after him.

Ambar wails in agony and collapses onto the sidewalk.

As the SUVs pull away Ambar leans over a nearby fence sobbing, “My love, my love,” she murmurs over and over again.
