It's distressing that the GOP voted down the Nazis running in their primaries, and the Dems voted for the Nazis in their primaries.

Did I get this right, the "progressive" who won is opposed to inter-racial couples, hates Jews, supports the Russian war in Ukraine, and believes domestic violence is a matter for your imam to deal with, not the police? Okay, not sure this is going to flip the House for the Dems.

Making the strategic plan pretty obvious, the army is expected to coup at some point and replace the IRGC. The change in tempo today though might indicate a change in the plan though.

The targets the IRGC has chosen, such as the Dubai International Airport, are absolutely senseless and self-defeating. They are acting like headless chickens. By the end of this weekend the entire Middle East will have mobilized against the (surviving) regime members of Iran.

RIP Robert Tinney (November 22, 1947 – February 1, 2026), the artist famous for his playful covers for Byte magazine, a hobbist magazine that ushered in the microcomputing age from the mid-70s through the 90s. I'm honored to have included his work in my own art collection.
Byte magazine cover featuring a desktop with a screen showing a green landscape, next to a window showing the real-life version, which is ugly, industrialized, and smoky. The original Star Trek crew are at a holographic museum of "ancient technology," watching a guy scratch his head while reading a retro computer manual.A painting, a window, and a desktop computer are all lined up to complete the same view, a scene of a blue mountain range.A white-bearded Robert Tinney stands near an easel with a famous Tinney illustration of a smartwatch that runs on a micro-floppy disk.

I am so proud of my friends and family in the Twin Cities, and thinking of my old neighbors when I see photos and video from just blocks away. In the rest of the country, we need to act, and quickly I think. If the German 1930s were a guide, we have mere months to act, in any case, less than a year.

When I have to randomly put a bunch of dots on a map, I too copy paste clusters and rotate them around to make it look like they are actually different
Shitty map from the US Department of War website claiming the military has 4800 sites in over 160 countries but the placements are laughably wrong - for example a bunch are in Russia, Venezuela, Iran, and China. Yellow circles highlight where the dots are clearly copy pasted.

Well I guess some things have changed since Umberto Eco wrote this in 1995
From Umberto Eco's "Ur-Fascism":

"We must keep alert, so that the sense of these words will not be forgotten again. Ur-Fascism is still around us, sometimes in plainclothes. It would be so much easier, for us, if there appeared on the world scene somebody saying, "I want to reopen Auschwitz, I want the Black Shirts to parade again in the Italian squares." Life is not that simple. Ur-Fascism can come back under the most innocent of disguises. Our duty is to uncover it and to point our finger at any of its new instances - every day,"

Today I learned two things about the Union Carbide Bhopal accident. We never did figure out how the water got into the chemical storage tank to cause the reaction and mass death. And the public relations lead for the chemical company later was Hillary Clinton's campaign lead. What a weird world.

So the Qataris fund Hamas, fund a boatload of anti-semitic propaganda in the west, couldn't find anyone to buy this plane, so bribed Trump with it, and most of a $1B from an unrelated fund to refurbish it for AF1 or Trump's personal use? The corruption seeps into every little corner.

Tom was a prodigy who skipped grades to enter Harvard University as a freshman at 15. Below is the final stanza of “Dissertation on Education,” the poem he wrote and submitted around 1943 with his successful college application. Drafted into the Army in 1955, Tom worked at the NSA for two years.
The final stanza of “Dissertation on Education”:

“But although I detest/Learning poems and the rest/Of the things one must know to have ‘culture,’/While each of my teachers/Makes speeches like preachers/And preys on my faults like a vulture,/I will leave movie thrillers/And watch caterpillars/Get born and pupated and larva’ed,/And I’ll work like a slave/And always behave/And maybe I’ll get into Harvard …”
