Republicans, in their infinite wisdom, left a big gambling loophole in the Medicaid work requirements. I'm no fan of the gambling industry, but if you are on Medicaid and struggling to deal with the work requirements, taking a $580 bet on both sides of an outcome is one way of getting around them.

As part of the FY2027 budget, New Jersey enacted S-4531, which raises the state CTC amount by 25% for three years. Families with taxable income below $80,000 can claim a credit for each child under age 6. Using our NJ CTC calculator, we analyzed the impact of this increase.

BREAKING: the clock struck midnight and our bipartisan housing bill is now law. Trump refused to sign it, but he couldn't stop it. This law is GROUNDBREAKING. It will build more housing, bring down costs, and for the first time, stop private equity from buying up homes.

Let's check the numbers— Oh wait it's only a $200 annual increase? And the poorest families are still excluded from it? No way!

Claim: SALT Caucus members say the cap in the W&M bill is inadequate to deliver real tax relief for middle-class families. Reality: Raising the cap to $62k/$124k would lower the tax liability of households in the top decile by $2,621 and $13 or less for those in the bottom five.
