I think part of why it’s becoming more negative is that more people are “drinking at home” rather than “at the party” so to speak: less forming reciprocal relationships than just sort of passively consuming infinite scroll content.

I think it’s very analogous to alcohol in terms of the social aspect: it’s obviously bad for you in many ways, but it also can be geniunely a meaningful social lubricant that expands your life in positive ways in terms of new relationships and experiences you wouldn’t otherwise have.

the problem with this is that trump cannot be relied upon. trump never kept promises or honored bargains even before his brain melted. like, even as a purely pragmatic move, setting the potential morality aside, it's just stupid, because it relies on trusting trump to hold up his end of the deal.

It frustrates me how many people don't recognize that the reason Macklemore's antisemitic costume in 2014 matters when discussing his defense of Palestine right now is that it exponentially increases the difficulty of convincing people who already doubt it that "Free Palestine" isn't antisemitic.

importantly, these people do not question the Jewishness of pro-Israel Jews who are not religiously observant or eat treyf etc. These attacks are incorrect as a matter of Jewish law, but they are also disingenuous because the only factor they actually consider a red line is support of Israel.
