CfP:
Manuscripts, History, Rulers and Popes:
Sessions in Memory of Rosamond McKitterick
Leeds IMC, 5-8 July 2027

This set of sessions at the IMC in 2027 honours Rosamond McKitterick (1949–2026) and her work through the lens of four of her monographs: The Carolingians and the Written Word (1989), History and Memory in the Carolingian World (2004), Charlemagne (2008) and Rome and the Invention of the Papacy (2020).
We invite papers that engage with the themes Rosamond McKitterick explored in these books, including early medieval manuscript culture, the role of history-writing in shaping Frankish memory and community, early medieval Frankish rulership and the history of the early medieval papacy.
Talks should be 15-20 minutes long and can be delivered either in person or online.

My LoTR subway maps have been quite popular, but they're not the only ones I've drawn! I really like my Narnia one, too. With separate lines for the plot arcs of each of the books, it gives you a fun way to see Lewis's world. #narnia #maps #subway #CSLewis It's for sale here: etsy.me/4mkfBsU
A subway style map on a parchment background. The map's title reads: "Narnia Transit Map: Talking Beasts Ride Free." The map has seven keys, one for each of the seven books in C.S. Lewis's Narinia series. The main movements of characters and action in each book are traced by colored lines, like a subway map. Locations in each book are marked out as stops in the lines. There is a drawing of a lion above the title of the map, and in the lower right corner there is a compass rose.
