"Mechanics as narrative" is an idea that is not only important for immersion, but it makes the game's internal logic consistent. It also makes mechanics feel natural, easier to remember or extrapolate without flipping through the book, and help GMs adjudicate in ways that make sense to the setting.

What we're dealing with AI bots scraping the site to volume equating to DDoS attack. Normally we expect a couple hundred members and a few thousand guests at one time. AI scrapers have slowed the site so only 28 members online because there's 91000(!) "guests" making the site unusable.
