#tavqotd #dalamusstrighym Though one of the few people Dal would let get so close, he's still wary on principle and can't help the slight lean away before he catches himself and allows her to place a kiss on his cheek. When he remembers how to breathe again, he asks, "...What was that for?"

This comic but imagine it's Dal avoiding all the kisses :') Sorry y'all

Vertical 4-panel comic of a hand trying to give a cat a head pat, but the cat keeps leaning away to avoid the hand, to the point of being comically flat in the last panel.
The original comic was drawn by Twitter/X user @illust2002

#tavqotd #dalamusstrighym Dalamus is dangerous but not necessarily more powerful than the average drow. He has weapons training from his House, mostly for 1v1 battle. No offensive magic skills. Entirely willing & able to kill people, but he's an artist from a death cult, not a soldier.

097

#ocqotd #dalamusstrighym #tavqotd As of the start and during most of BG3, Dal THINKS his dream life is being back in Menzoberranzan, consort and Patron to a Matron of a Noble House. Genuinely one of the highest positions in his culture's society he can expect. Being useful, having power, is the

he'd give them something like skittles. Overwhelmingly sweet to him, but not exactly a punishment to anyone unless they've got his same palate lmao

020

#tavqotd #dalamusstrighym Dal is actually not a fan of sweets or candy. He's got whatever the opposite of a sweet tooth is, & prefers sour & bitter flavors. So he'll enjoy something like a sour warhead. Gloria's okay with sour but not extremely, so he'd give her some lemon drops. His enemy--

I mostly draw my boy Dal in many different ways. #dragonblepsart But I occasionally draw other characters, and very, very rarely, I do needle felting.

1126

#ocqotd #tavqotd #dalamusstrighym Not well!! Dal can handle spooky, creepy, gore, etc. He'll stare down an actor w a bloodied chainsaw, knowing it's fake. If he sees it coming, it's fine. If it *startles* him, he'll jump/yelp & get angry. Actors nearby doing the jumpscares might get swung at :')

#tavqotd #dalamusstrighym I have Dal reserve one pouch in the inventory solely for stones and gems. He's a gemcutter by trade, so he's always looking for neat stones to polish at camp. I don't sell them unless I *absolutely* need the money. I also have him keep books written by drow. I pretend

#tavqotd #dalamusstrighym Major: Wide and vast open spaces like plains, the sky, the ocean, etc. Magic, especially Enchantment and Healing. Intimacy. Minor: Sudden and/or loud noises, like some thunder. Certain weather (it's all new to him). Birds. Horses. Centaurs.

274

#tavqotd #dalamusstrighym So certain he doesn't need anyone, hates asking for help, & assumes uselessness is a death sentence... Cursed with butter-fingers!! Can't hold a darned thing. Everything slips from his grasp, even his stones & polishing tools. Better start practicing that "pretty please"!

283

#tavqotd #dalamusstrighym One may or may not regret bringing Dal to Show & Tell. He's bringing a stone of some kind, likely an agate, & he's come with a full geology lecture about where it's found and how it's formed AND rockhounding advice AND what's best to choose for what kind of jewelry AND--

263

Aaand because I have so many and also some art!! moar

010

#wolqotd #dalamussarangerel I'll happily oblige!!! I see him face, I take a screenshot.

231

#tavqotd #dalamusstrighym Surprisingly difficult bc he already expects friction & betrayal, & he knows he can't return to Menzo with a parasite, & certainly can't defeat the Absolute alone. I think if the party repeatedly implied Dal was slowing them down bc of his injury, he'd leave, but

1115

#tavqotd Give me references for your Tav/Durge!! (if you want to) (Figured this is the easiest way for myself to get a lot of info in an easy-to-find-later place.) Dalamus is 5'11 btw & usually grumpy! His brother, Nilaufein is.. idk stupid tall for a drow, like 6'3 or smth & generally cheerful.

3214

#wolqotd #dalamussarangerel No I don't think so. He's typically direct and bluntly honest lmao He usually means well though

022

#tavqotd #dalamusstrighym Outside the bedroom, Dal tends to touch her middle--her sides, lower back, waist, etc. Gentle, careful, as if he's afraid of crossing a line. Once their bond is stronger, he will tentatively reach for her hand when standing close enough.

174

As a result, I kinda just turned Riding Lizards into my playground, & plan on using different species of real life lizards for inspiration for Nilaufein's Lizards on the Surface :) I consider Elemmiire here fairly standard, with a monitor lizard-esque body & gecko feet! With fun Underdark colors.

150

#tavqotd #dalamusstrighym Been RPing in the Elder Scrolls fandom long enough to know that all lore is a suggestion unless I like it, at which point it's canon for my OC and I'll have fun explaining or expanding it. I pretty blatantly ignored the part of lore that says drow are fairly short, but

1113

#tavqotd #dalamusstrighym 's brother Nilaufein For Nil, it's his regret over abandoning Dal in Menzoberranzan 170 years ago. He has no "good" excuse. He was waiting for a perfect moment that would never come, & by then Dal was old enough to resist & deep enough in the Lolthite cult that he would.

173

#tavqotd #dalamusstrighym Unfortunately, the fear of being "found out." By Lolth, by Nedvyllanna, by the denizens of the Surface. A soul-deep paranoia that someone, somewhere, will realize he "doesn't belong here" and will remove him. It can be temporarily quelled but never completely goes away 😔

174

Lirum's funeral, and then Cooke and Mack singing Lirum's lullaby to save Sarah. A few of the 1000 Years of Dreams also made me emotional while reading them.

010

#tavqotd #dalamusstrighym No idea what it's from, if anything, and i dont usually save couples gifs. But while looking for references, this has so far been the only gif I've HAD to show Gloria's writer to be like "It them <3 (in the future)"

123

#ocqotd #tavqotd #dalamusstrighym It's.. complicated. Touch starved/touch averse wombo combo. For much of his life he's been rather touch averse, with his previous relationship exacerbating it with abuse. He also craves connection, but is afraid to let others close. At the beginning of BG3, he

#tavqotd #dalamusstrighym Dalamus blinks in mild confusion. "I must imagine werewolves run hotter, considering vampires are undead, yes?"

#wolqotd #dalamussarangerel #dalamusrex #dragonblepsart So, WoL Dal isn't a vampire, BUT, his original version, an Elder Scrolls Skyrim dark elf, is! (And his Fantasy Modern Earth version. FFXIV Dal is actually a bit of an outlier for his AUs, being neither an elf nor vampire!)

#tavqotd #dalamusstrighym A centaur. Listen... Driders are scary for many reasons, but Dal likes spiders. Dal doesn't like horses. They're freaky. So a horse-drider? Absolutely not. Alternatively: A dragazhar, like Nedvyllanna's pet, Nacta. Many unpleasant memories and terrifying sounds.

#tavqotd #dalamusstrighym Compassion, to Dal, means offering help or kindness for no perceivable or tangible benefit. And, unfortunately, it's not a skill he's practiced in. He thinks in a very transactional manner. Not only does he not think he's compassionate, he doesn't want to be. For now.

#tavqotd #dalamusstrighym Menzoberranzan is ruled by Priestesses of Lolth, the most powerful & influential among them being Matrons of Noble Houses. Open worship of any other deity is forbidden, & violation of rules as simple as dress code or intentional harm of spiders can be punishable by death.

#tavqotd #dalamusstrighym 's brother Nilaufein 14. How do you want to be remembered? "Oh. Well. A loving father and husband. A reliable friend. A fantastic hugger. A good person. And, hopefully, a decent brother, despite it all..."

173

#tavqotd #dalamusstrighym 6. What's something you're deeply grateful for? It takes Dalamus a concerning amount of time to decide on an answer. He knows what the answer "should" be. Lolth. Always Lolth. "My father for teaching me my craft, I suppose. I enjoy my work. I enjoy creating."
