There's one man I've wanted to give a copy of Banned Book Club to since 2020. Moon Jae-In. But I couldn't because he was busy being president. It was the last panel of our book! Today, we got the chance. But that wasn't the best part.

Byrne couldn't handle the sauce. I don't hate Byrne's writing but reading back and forth between X-Men Hidden Years and Claremont's run, which was releasing at the same time, was quite the whiplash.

because Claremont understands that as a cultural product and a thing real-life people experience through fiction, superheroes aren't professional athletes, they're you when you get to work on time even though the bus driver tried to roll your stop

Byrne's work trends clinical, even when he's being sexy. Claremont is always human, almost embarrassingly so, and that's the key to his appeal. I'm regularly doing things that require like 30% of my strength, yet upon peeling open the safety seal on the goddamn foaming soap I'm still like, "I win"

This page gets cited as the point where John Byrne decided to stop working with Chris Claremont — apocryphally, Byrne thought Claremont's dialogue undermined Colossus' strength. I find this to be a fascinating instance of one guy approaching fiction with calipers while another shows up with tequila
Colossus, full metal skin and everything, hauls a stump out of the ground with a chain, saying "by Lenin, either my heart with burst and my steel body crack--"

DoorDash spent $1.4M trying to stop Zohran Mamdani from becoming mayor. This week's historic $131.5M enforcement action against DoorDash for underpaying NYC delivery workers shows why. Yet another reminder that the only thing that can beat organized money is organized people.

Not In Our Name (NION) Women @nionwomen.bsky.social · 26/09/2026
Feminism doesn't require women to see trans+ people as the enemy. For many of us, feminism has always meant challenging inequality, standing alongside people whose rights are under threat, and refusing to accept that one group's equality must come at another's expense. That's our feminism too.
Woman walking down a street outside, wearing a scarf and shoulder bag. The quote from one of the women who signed our letter reads

“I have grown incredibly exasperated at the portrayal of ‘gender critical’ perspectives as representing all women when my feminism has ALWAYS been inclusive and intersectional.”

Emma Frost: "Emma Frost, darling. I'm a telepath. May I read your mind to ascertain if you're telling the truth?"

Miss Piggy: "But of course, darling I am an open book, a tell-all memoir."Emma Frost telepathically witnessing the entirety of Miss Piggy's life.Wolverine: "Frost? She legit?"
Emma Frost: "She's..She's... She's everything. And I would die for her."

Mickey angrily points at Donald, who is unconciously and dizzy and has some how burrowed his way underneath Mickey's wallpaper all the way up into the ceiling. Minnie looks absolutely shocked.

Mickey: (spitefully) There's mama's little helper - up there!
