It was a tough watch for me. I think the slow pace is the point, but after seeing all the episodes I’m not sure if it was worth the ride. The length felt “necessary” in retrospect but it was painful during every minute. I think it could’ve been edited down and still present a boring apocalypse.

It absolutely wouldn't challenge our idea of what makes us unique in the world. Many whale species have complex languages and culture, slime molds can solve complex puzzles - anyone who has spent any time with animals knows that cognition isn't exclusive to humans.
