Nextdoor is not a dating app!
A thirsty man on Nextdoor writes:

THANKS to all the SINGLE, EMPTY-NESTER LADIES, around their early-50's, who wished me (a single, empty-nester dad) a Happy Birthday!

Who knows, maybe next birthday I won't be single? What do you think?

I’ve been having fun with the EP-133 I purchased earlier this year. Here’s one of my first attempts at making something with the onboard sounds, recorded a few months ago.

Setting up dangerous consequences for not being a part of a specific social class is guaranteeing tragedy for those who find themselves falling out of that class. Just ask the Spartans who experienced precisely that scenario. acoup.blog/2019/09/05/c...
Text from the article “This. Isn’t. Sparta” by Bret Devereaux.

But my main point here is that falling out of the spartiate system meant social death. Remember that the spartiates are a closed class – failing at being a spartiate because your kleros is too poor to maintain the mess contribution means losing citizen status; it means your children cannot attend the agoge or become spartiates themselves. It means you, your wife, your entire family forever are shamed, their status as full members of society forever revoked and your social orbit collapses on you, since you are cut off from the very ties that bind you to your friends. No wonder Pantites preferred to hang himself.

Oklahoma City road planning is too anti-pedestrian: under the tag #OKCBetterSafer they’re posting that they’re widening roads from two to four lanes across the city, and one such instance is widening a road to allow greater access to a turnpike while separating a local community from its school.
A post on a social network from the City of Oklahoma City, referencing a road widening project. The post includes the following text:

“Project Update: SW 15th Street from Czech Hall Road to John Kilpatrick Turnpike continues to make progress. The #OKCBetterSafer project will widen the roadway from 2 to 4 lanes, add sidewalks and drainage improvements. Construction is anticipated to be complete summer 2025.”
