Tomorrow, on October 1, the biggest transfer of wealth from the working class to the wealthy hits a critical milestone. Many of the provisions from the Big Ugly Bill will go into effect, harming hundreds of thousands of Michiganders in order to create tax cuts for the richest people in America.

chat is it good if leaders in a nuclear power are posting like this after a 3hr security briefing
Guillaume Lacroix
@Lacroix_PRG
Translated from French
I’ve just emerged from nearly 3 hours of briefing and discussions with the President of the Republic and the intelligence and security services. At the age of 50, I have rarely felt such vertigo. Vertigo at the gravity of the situations in the Middle East and Ukraine, at the predatory madness driving the world toward chaos. Vertigo at the risks and consequences for our security, our economy, our purchasing power. Vertigo at all these candidates who dream, unrestrained, confident in their certainties and their posturing, of governing France in this historical and grave era and situation. Our democracy, our country must already face up to it today and will have to stand firm tomorrow. More than ever, I will fight, in my modest role, for France not to surrender its destiny to delirious egos, to armchair warmongers, to fake pacifists, and to those who submit to ease and fear. France must more than ever be strong. We must all contribute to that. The advantage of vertigo is that it reminds you not to fall. @PartiRadicalG

Tough problem to solve, too. Sink $400 million (must be way more than that) & accept that Iran could just whack it again. Fall back to Diego Garcia (like now) & accept the distance penalty. Maybe scatter to Oman (Salalah, Duqm) or UAE but still vulnerable + inefficient. No one site replaces Bahrain
