I have been irked by the framing of "rogue",like these systems just performed a misdeed by accident. When I access a spreadsheet and change a value,there are so many chains preventing me from registering that action and if I do I am held liable. No one is being held liable or responsible.

If you have time and want something long standing it's worth looking at other options than discord as even that small friction to join a platform might save you stress with oversight. Fan servers of your work tend to run well if properly managed,removing the work for you to do it.

It might sound counter to what you asked but it honestly might be better to have fans build a server and you visit vs actually owning and running one yourself. Servers need a decent 2-3 hours of commitment a day to talk to community,talk to mods, answer questions, check saftey etc

Helped mod a couple, honestly I would not advise Discord, a new option similar to Discord called Rift is coming up and I am trying to migrate people there better tools and options(plus no phone/email needed to join) Running a community of adults fans can be fun if it's regularly pruned

Alot of friendships are not made as artists not considered American or European deliberately hide their nationality to get proper pay. It's pretty bad that it's better to pretend to be another nationality to justify ones prices as when quality is the same people haggle prices pretty distastefully🫠

Before AI it was NFTS hype causing many portfolio platforms like DeviantArt to just castrated their reputation and fall in, then AI. Platforms have demonstrated given sufficient incentive they do not see you as a participant,but as a source to extract. I am not waiting for the next grift to leave.

Not to be a downer but,why go back to Artstation? This goes beyond them,in recent years random TOS changes have changed how uploaders interact with their content and I don't like being at the whim's of whoever owns them. It is honestly better to self host at this point. Own the land beneath you.
