I'm not part of the Treasury or an economist so I don't really have the answer to that, but if they want the <65s to vote in the same numbers as the >65s there needs to be more parity in increase of wages and pensions when compared against the cost of living.

Is that what I said? I would much rather the pension was higher, the social safety net was more robust and billionaires were taxed until they weren't any more, but at the moment all we've a false binary where the pension gets increased by at least 3% when Nhs staff got a pay cut for a decase.

The triple lock just makes sure that people who had a wage allowing a comfortable living their entire worklife continue to be comfortable at the expense of the current young working population who'll probably not even receive a state pension. Burnham should should show some fortitude and scrap it.
