I am a government middle manager; the work I do is meaningful and necessary, I am paid a fair wage, I have steadily advanced in my career, and while we can always find reasons to complain and things which need improvement, at the end of the day, The Office was a sitcom, not reality.

Wow! I watched suno flat out steal the voice of a friend when we loaded her track in just to demo its capabilities then it used it on brand new tracks in other genres…

You might be surprised here, some of the biggest pop artists, DJs, and producers are outstanding musicians. On the other hand, the technology can let a non musician or beginner make something cool and Juilliard is not required to be a sick DJ. But i will argue the best out there are solid musicians

Moxito @desertdweller.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
I know artists who use suno just as tool in the process. If you record a draft of a track but are not a good singer, suno can give your lyrics a better voice. You can send the track to a real singer who can get a better sense of how it sounds. I dunno, I’m still not comfortable with it.

That Angine de Poitrine got so big this year kinda undercuts the OP. There is also a growing pushback against ai-generated music, on the other hand suno is appealing to too many musicians IMO

After working in Arizona and seeing everyone in my office always have a water bottle or gallon jug at every meeting, i dont think people would bat an eye over an iced tea. They might think you’re on it, ready to go, and hydrated. I do think deal killers for interviews are under dressing & no prep

If the GOP are wiped out in the midterms there could well be knock-on effects for the radical right across the world. A lot of influence, networks and financial/media infrastructure will be significantly weakened - especially under scrutiny from a Congress controlled by the Democrats.

She was also somewhat infamous in the SW for being the champion for the "zero-logging" legislative push by the Sierra Club which would have impacted Native American and Hispanic communities who traditionally used a variety of forest products for firewood and fence posts and other uses.

(5 U.S.C. § 2302(b)(13) any NDA used by a federal agency must explicitly state that its terms do not supersede employee rights to report waste, fraud, abuse, or whistleblower violations to Congress, Inspectors General, or the Office of Special Counsel. Enforcing an NDA without this is prohibited

Officials can release names of companies without releasing proprietary information or violating NDAs…but I agree elected officials should not be signing NDAs and this should be a bigger issue

It’s interesting b/c I’ve signed NDAs when on an bid or proposal evaluation team for contracts but there always needs to be a clause (by law) that says NDAs do not preclude providing investigators or other officials with info covered by the NDA.

Wow. From the main entry on the Republican Party. Good for Wikipedia, one of the last vestiges of pure truth seeking and editorial standards on the internet.
Following the civil rights era, the Republican Party's use of the Southern strategy appealed to many white voters disaffected by Democratic support for civil rights, and de facto flipping the two parties' stances. The present-day Republican Party is primarily right-wing populist and neo-nationalist with smaller conservative, Christian right, and libertarian factions, all of which have greatly diminished in influence since 2016. Its ideology has since largely shifted towards illiberalism, favoring strong presidential power[38][39] and a statist government to enforce conservative cultural values. [40] This includes broad opposition to abortion, LGBT rights, immigration, and gun control. On economic policy, it supports mercantilism while opposing labor unions. During the 20th and early 21st centuries, it cooperated internationally with conservative parties. Since the 2020s it has aligned with global far-right parties, [41][421[43] and white nationalist beliefs have become influential within the party, [44 including support for remigration.

Yep, with good fire-scaping and low ignitability neighborhoods to reduce impacts from long range spotting. I also think in these places expanding riparian areas, restoring wetlands and such to raise the RH and slow fire spread. Make it more defensible and harder for spot fires to get established

Good points all around. One of the real challenges is mitigating that risk in urban settings like Spokane. You know ember wash on wood roofs, hard to get thousands of people to reduce ignitability with often limited funds and in places usually considered lower risk
