Screens have zapped my attention span so much that the remedy is to now spend 30-60mins each morning practicing my cursive by copying sections from textbooks. This has helped enormously with areas like focus, concentration and information retention. Plus, my handwriting has improved to no end!

An open notebook sits on top of a William Morris desk mat. In the notebook is a section copied from a textbook, written in cursive, with the green Kaweco fountain pen used to write, laying on top of the page.
It reads: “…kept ‘in garrets among the rich and in outhouses among the poor’. This feeling was now almost gone, with the result that more people sought admission to public and private asylums fourthly, emigration, which had so seriously depleted the population…”
This has been copied from the book “Grangegorman: Psychiatric Care in Dublin since 1815” by Joseph Reynolds.

We got the Irish episodes of Murder She Wrote in part, due to the Manson Family, after Angela Lansbury’s daughter started to get caught up with them and the drug scene. Lansbury moved her family to Ireland and in a roundabout way, episodes of MSW set in Ireland happened because of her base there.

Spent the day hunting the spot of a landscape drawn 125 yrs ago, the hospital building both old & new, the trees now tall & dense. Is that the gate? What about that line of trees? Day 7 #DrawingAugust & I’m camping out in the coffee shop this morning for a couple of hours of me time.

Went out cycling for fitness & weight management. Worried about cars & safety but pleasantly surprised to find everyone nice & courteous. Passed 5 cyclists who were male & had 2 laugh at me for not being skinny & 1 sneer when I greeted him. Men cyclists of Derry, you sure live up to your reputation
