James Gray's Paper Tiger (tonight @ NYFF64): For me, his best--an exceptionally mature, grounded, emotional crime/family drama. Beautiful work w/ actors: Adam Driver is characteristically great, Scarlett Johansson is impeccable in a surprising character role, and Miles Teller does career-best work.

#throwbackthursday to a time Buddy got caught trying to pack Gizmo in a suitcase and send him to Mars. Just for a few weeks 😹😹🦁🦁 #teamfloof #CatsofBluesky

A throwback picture of Buddy and Gizmo the orange Maine Coon cats playing around at a suitcase which mum was trying to pack for a holiday. Gizmo is in the case sniffing at a plastic bag which contains some cosmetics while Buddy sits outside the case. He’s looking up at the camera with a look that suggests we’ve caught him doing something he shouldn’t! Maybe he had plans to zip the case up and hope Gizmo got taken so he could have a break 😹😹 both boys have beautifully soft and shiny orange coats.

i wrote and drew this one before i decided to take a real swing at pip and gunko as a big boy webcomic, so it isn’t up on the site yet and won’t be for a while, but regardless! i drew it while dragging myself out of the lowest point of burnout and i think it’s one of the best comics i’ve done so far

One of the most harrowing things about academia, when you're a grad student, is how vulnerable you are to how you're perceived by more senior researchers. Your career advancement depends on confidential letters of reference & private discussions amongst faculty. You have no information or control.

Today is Fat Bear finals. 89 Backpack vs. 910. Both are first-time finalists & offspring of former champs. Both are large & could easily murder you. I'll vote 89 since my candidate, perennial also-ran 151 Walker, lost. explore.org/fat-bear-week

I think this might be my favorite photo in my collection. It's the one I picture being on the cover of a book if I ever make one someday. The light, her face, the way she's supporting the kitten so lovingly. ❤️ No date/info.

Advice for adults: don't anthropomorphize AI agents. No please or thank you. You don't ask Google "please convert 5 inches into centimeters", you say "convert 5 inches into centimeters". No please, no thank you. Treat your AI agent the same way. youtu.be/wYLVLh7NI9A?...

Top of the cat tree affords the best view of pesky birds flying around 😹😹🦁🦁 #teamfloof #CatsofBluesky

Gizmo the orange Maine Coon cat fills this picture as he sits on the top pillar of his cream coloured cat tree! We can see all 4 snow dipped paws with various white tufts of fluff coming out between his toe beans. His large pointy ears with their orange tips are standing to full attention as he focuses his green eyes to unseen action to the left. As the full sitting position is captured lots of detail in his coat can be seen as the white chest fur flows down into creamier orange while both are surrounded by full orange on his sides.
